If you want to freak your friends out, this truly bizarre Coca-Cola trick will be sure to have them scratching their heads. If you don’t have any friends, you can still make this strange concoction and then amaze yourself when you slice into this rubbery, sugary, gummy bottle of Coke. I’m not sure what it is about this that is so satisfying to watch, but after going through the steps and watching the video, I feel overwhelmingly compelled to try this myself.
The trick involves using gelatin to create a gummy bottle of Coca-Cola that looks indiscernible from a standard plastic bottle of coke — except you can slice and eat it! There are a few tricks you need to know before you try this in order to make sure you get it right. Luckily for you, we’re here to walk you through how to make your very own gummy coke bottle. Check out the step-by-step guide and then go make your own rubbery, sugary, tube of weird gelatinous cola!
You’ll need a standard bottle of coke, 60 grams of unflavored gelatin, scotch tape, a utility knife, and a saucepan for heating your cola-gelatin blend in.
Mix it Up
Pour your entire bottle of coke into a large saucepan. Mix your gelatin in and give it a thorough stir. Put the mixture over the stove on low heat until the liquid reaches a gentle simmer.
Prepare Your Bottle Mold
While your Coke blend is heating, take your empty bottle and carefully remove the label. Put the label aside and hold onto it because you’ll need it later. Then, using your utility blade, make a small cut down the side of your bottle. The cut should be about six inches long from top to bottom.
Tape Your Bottle
Seal the incision you’ve just made with scotch tape. Wrap a few layers around the bottle to avoid leaks. Now it’s ready for your liquid!

Once you’re done taping your bottle, pour your heated Coke/gelatin mixture back in and put it into the fridge overnight. Be sure to use a funnel to assist you with pouring the fluid from the saucepan into the narrow mouth of the bottle so you don’t spill any precious gummy juice!
Peel Away the Plastic
Use your utility blade to cut away the scotch tape. Then, carefully use your fingers to remove the plastic bottle from the solidified Coke. When peeling away the plastic, start with the cut you’d made earlier.
Label and Lid
For the final touch, put the label and bottle cap back onto your gummy coke for a more authentic look that will freak out your friends. Have fun slicing and eating your giant coke gummy!
